Naturopathic Doctor / Practice Owner
Dr. Andrea Carr has worked as a naturopathic doctor for 10 years in the Langley, BC area. After obtaining her Bachelor of Science degree from Trinity Western University, she attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (formerly called the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine), completing the four-year program to become a Naturopathic Doctor. Dr. Carr is trained in Acupuncture, Nutrition, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, and Laboratory testing. Additionally, she holds her certification in Prescriptive Authority through the CNPBC and is therefore licenced and permitted to prescribe pharmaceutical agents in British Columbia. She has further education in IV therapies.
Dr. Carr’s approach is one of gentleness, empathy, and a true desire to nurture her patients. She strives to support each patient to treat the underlying causes of disease in order to restore and maintain their body’s inherent healing ability.
Electrodermal Screening Practitioner
Zena, as our in-house Electrodermal Screening Practitioner, is like a ray of sunshine. True to her unique name, meaning welcoming, friendly, and hospitable, she will surely bring a smile to your face as she works alongside Dr. Carr to personalize your health and healing journey. As a skilled Electrodermal Screening Practitioner, Zena uses the latest fully computerized electrodermal screening device to help detect the energetic signature of toxins, allergies, emotional patterns, and organ “weaknesses” in the body. Additionally, Zena will screen potential natural remedies to determine which would be helpful to restore your body’s balance.
When Zena is not busy measuring bioenergetics of the body, she is very busy chasing down her 6 grandkids, and spending time outdoors with her husband of 33 years. We are thrilled that Zena is part of our Althea family.

Registered Clinical Counsellor
My name is Barb, and I provide individual counselling to children and adults. I strive for calm and supportive interactions, connecting with clients in a non-judgmental and authentic way. I believe each person is the expert on their own experience. As a counsellor, I listen, understand, and collaborate with clients, finding a path forward together that best fits their situation. My practice prioritizes cultural competency and safety. Focusing on social justice, I understand the impact cultural identity (including gender identity, race, religion, sexuality, and ethnicity) has on the health and wellbeing of people, communities, and systems. My genuine interest in people led me to careers in education and recreation. Now my main source of fulfilment is helping people through challenging times. I will harness my wealth of experiences as a teacher, recreation lead, and mom, all that I have learned and continue to learn, to best serve my clients.
